What Happens to My Electricity and Telephone Account When I Become Bankrupt?

Monies owing to your utility suppliers are caught by your bankruptcy.

However, going forward, you will need electricity and gas for lighting and heating. You will need to have your suppliers accounts up to date for continuing supply. We recommend you take the time to think about how your life will work once you have the protection of bankruptcy. You will need to keep your payments up to date with those suppliers you wish to continue receiving electricity and gas from. If you do not do this your supplier may require you to provide a bond before they will recommence supply to you.
